There's a slight confusion with last night's Philippine light flyweight championship bout between Jerson Mancio and Robel Villegas. Initial reports said that it was for a vacant belt but later reports says Mancio was defending the crown

Paranaque City, PHILIPPINES- Jerson Mancio (17-3-3, 8KO) has grabbed the vacant Philippine light flyweight strap by stopping Robel Villegas (9-7, 3KO) in the 5th of their scheduled twelve round bout at the Elorde Sports Complex, Paranaque, Philippines.

Mancio started slow in the opening round while Villegas was the busier fighter, trying to press the action and landing clean shots along the way. Villegas landed a hard counter right hook towards the end of the round that caught the attention of Mancio.
