Comments Thread For: Schaefer: No Interest in Wilder vs. Chisora Clash

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer confirmed reports that promoter Frank Warren reached out to his office with the idea of staging a possible fight between heavyweights Deontay Wilder (28-0, 28KOs) and Dereck Chisora.

Schaefer has big plans for Wilder and doesn't see the point of sending him to the UK for a bout with Chisora (16-4, 10KOs), who lost three of his last four.

Shame as it would be a very interesting fight.

Imo right now Chisora > Wilder.

      Duck duckduckduckduckdcudkcudkduckduckduckduckduck.

You can't put a man who knows one punch in against Del and Schaefer knows it.

      Duck.

That would be a good fight for Wilder. I'm surprised they turned it down.

Does indeed seem like a duck.

A guy who can take a punch and apply pressure; Eh, no thanks...

would be too much of a step up for Wilder...maybe in 2016...then in 2020 he will be ready for his first title fight...

Chisora just recently came off a lay-off, if Wilder can get more relevant competition like Fury or the winner of Mitchell/Banks, then why bother with Del Boy?

Beacuse Chisora can take a punch,Fury, Mitchell and Price can't. Plus Del Boy is a pressure fighter

If he wants to prove something, then he should fight Chisora. Other than that, it seems unnecessary to fight Del Boy at this time cuz he won't stand to gain much from it.

                    Let me get this straight...

You've got this talented heavyweight who's just recently knocked Harrison out over here and you're trying to break the British market... It doesn't get any better than Warren serving Chisora up on a plate for GBP.

GBP & Warren could co-host the fight and make most of each promoter's resources whilst GBP attempt to establish a foot-hold over here. This has nothing to do with Chisora's record, as it's much better than Harrison's and he'd do a hell of a lot better...

The only reason I can see why this fight isn't happening is because GBP are scared what Chisora might do to Wilder. Otherwise, this is beyond perfect for Golden Boy at this moment in time.
