Ricky Burns admits the only footage of Jose Gonzalez he can find is of his WBO lightweight challenger knocking opponents out.

But the Scot is not overly concerned about his opponent's impressive knockout rate of 17 from 22 wins.

Burns faced another unbeaten Puerto Rican in his first world title fight in the form of Roman Martinez and recovered from a first-round knockdown to win convincingly on points.

And the Coatbridge fighter, who defends his belt at Glasgow's Emirates Arena on May 11, believes his own improving punching power can act as a deterrent.

"We have been struggling to get any footage of his fights, the only things we can find on YouTube is him knocking boys out," Burns said.

Chelo, though, only fought C-rated opponents in Puerto Rico and this will be his first 12 rounds bout ever.

Chelo is vey patient and is a good counterpuncher. With that said, if he doesnt freeze, because of being away from home and dont feel the pressure of being in his opponent's backyard, hell stop Burns mid to late rounds. If he freezes he gets outbox in a boring ass fight!

He shouldn't be, Chelo is more of a boxer that at times can put a little pressure if he senses he's got you hurt but in no way do I think he's a KO artist or power puncher.

Not as pumped for it as the Vazquez fight that was supposed to happen but another Puerto Rican is Scotland can't complain .Still a quality night of boxing for me , buzzing .Simpson Choi as well should defintley be a war
