Comments Thread For: Rubio Now Confident He Will Knock Sergio Martinez Out

The World Boxing Council's mandatory challenger to the middleweight crown, Marco Antonio Rubio (57-6-1, 49KOs), is confident he can knock champion Sergio Martinez out.

Rubio, by way of a court order, was made the mandatory challenger to Martinez's title. On Saturday he watched Martinez struggle in his decision victory over British contender Martin Murray. Rubio does not expect Martinez to last distance with him.

Even though Martinez suffered several injuries in Saturday's win, and likely won't fight until 2014, Rubio plans to start some early training for the Martinez battle.

Good comeback fight for Sergio since the WBC will strip him of the belt.

lol he sounds like an obsessive Girlfriend. I hope Quillin takes care of this guy for good lol. If they don't fight then Martinez will just KO him, even if he is fighting in a wheelchair lol

Exactly. This mando is hungry, and he's been waiting for his title shot too long. Hey, it worked for NJikam.

Great, so we will see Rubio vs Domenico Spada, the dude who lost twice in interim title matches to the mighty Zbik but somehow still remains ranked #2 by the WBC
