Comments Thread For: Martinez, Garcia Win With Drama: The Post Report Card

One champion closed the show. The other kept his show going. Both walked the high wire and escaped in a fascinating pair of main events on Saturday night.

In the end, Sergio Martinez remains the Middleweight Champion of the World. Danny Garcia remains with a claim to the top spot at 140 lbs. And fight fans remain entertained in a year where things just seem to be going right in the ring.

Let’s go to the report cards.

    Garcia is a legit champ

Garcia's technique and style are very pleasing to the eye, and that right hand was so ****!n accurate, footwork is also very impressive, I love Brandon Rios but Danny is a slugger with beautiful footwork, somethin my boy Rios is lacking

I have to agree; folks be downin' Garcia for bein so average, but the fact remains that he keeps winning. A matchup against Matthysse who can both **** and box will be a real skills test.

He didn't look very good against Judah, he actually lost the championship rounds against a guy that always gasses in the second half of his fights. He was also hurt multiple times in the last three rounds of the fight. It wasn't a a good showing but he got the win.

He did good until the last few rounds.
He also proved he has a good chin and more than a left hook lol
