    Freddie Roach and Khan's defence

Maybe Freddie Roach knew Khan's defence was his attack?
He has never really had much or any upper body movement or been great at reading punches blocking. However his flurries, speed and power kept opposition off and thinking.

The adjustments made are giving him a defence by taking away and slowing down his attack. It'll never work for him because Khan is a volume fighter who is known for his speed. Yesterday he struggled to keep Diaz off because his attack was cut down. He was left to defend using his newly acquired defensive skills solely which were not up to the level he was fighting.

Maybe Khan's best times will always be those with Freddie and any defence should be created using this.

No. If Khan fought the way he did against Garcia last night, he would have been ko'd. By throwing those random fluries you leave yourself open and become very predictable. Once you're in there with someone who's got timing and power, you would be in huge trouble. Diaz was looking to counter Khan all night but khan didn't leave himself as open because he cut down on his usual flurries.

khans issue is that he has no head movement, he is a still target, has no feints at all. he also does not pot shot and then duck low (like judah, floyd hopkins do etc) he needs to add those 3 bits in his game to help him avoid being figured out imo

He was nearly KO'd fighting defensively yesterday on numerous occasions. At least with Freddie he'd chop his opponent up and move around. His attack and subsequent movement around the ring was his defence. In the Garcia fight he pressed too much and was way too aggressive.
A slightly less aggressive Khan like the way he fought Judah or Maidana with Freddie is the best Khan.

His defense will never be great and will get hit, but atleast he won't get hit as much as he would have if he just stuck with pointless flurries. In the end it was his defensive attitude that prevented him from being ko'd. Maidana has the power to hurt khan but he didn't have the skills to pull of a counter, Zab was just to small.
