Comments Thread For: Source: Luke Campbell To Join Hearn's Matchroom Stable

Promoter Eddie Hearn will also usher in a new signing to Matchroom on Tuesday. With speculation rife at ringside and Matchroom close-lipped, the rumour mill has cranked into life and thrown out a number of possibilities. All the signs point towards Team GB’s Luke Campbell — the bantamweight gold medal winner at the 2012 Olympic Games and a silver medalist at the 2011 World Amateur Boxing Championships — with his first fight taking place in Hull on a bill that will be topped by a lightweight title clash. If you're betting man, and the 'Scene doesn't condone that type of behaviour, then go all on in on the 25-year-old. All will be revealed come Tuesday.

I'm going to reserve judgement on Campbell's professional capabilities until he steps into the ring, I'm looking forward to seeing how he does and hopefully he's matched well.

Hearn's done well securing contracts with notable amateur and pro fighters but he needs to refine his stable now, focus on who he's going to take to the top and do it. Rose vs Alcine is not a fight that should be headlining a card and he easily has the talent/fighters to make entertaining, competitive cards, week in/week out.
