Comments Thread For: Shaw: Romero Ready, Willing To Face Rigondeaux

Gary Shaw, the promoter for IBF super bantamweight champion Jonathan Romero (23-0, 12KOs), advised BoxingScene.com that his fighter is ready and willing to unify with WBA/WBO champ Guillermo Rigondeaux (12-0, 8KOs).

"If the money is right, tomorrow we can make the fight. I have no problem making that fight, if the offer is right," Shaw told BoxingScene.com.

So he wants to unify all the titles in the division (minus WBC because that title is vacant and WBC doesn't allow unifications)

No one is in Rigondeaux's league. No one will EVER beat him. He established dominance of the lower weight classes with the spectacular boxing seminar he gave to Donaire. To sell a Rigondeaux fight to boxing fans is tough but it is possible. Unification bout would do very well. Have the fight take place in a market that will have people wanting to get tickets the first day the fight is announced. And the super bantamweight division has never had an undisputed champion. If this fight takes place Rigondeaux will become the first undisputed super bantamweight champion of the world. The way he schooled Donaire, he should be able to do that to just about any 122-126 obstacle that comes his way.
