Comments Thread For: CompuBox Stats: Rigo Outlands Doniare in 11 Rounds

Guillermo Rigondeaux outlanded Nonito Donaire in 11 of 12 rounds in their super bantamweight unification and also landed the harder punches all fight. Surprisingly, Rigo was the busier fighter as well.

Are they sure about this? I could've sworn I watched Rigo run track all night...

That's what idiots would have you believe. Every single time he was touched he returned fire, often times with two of his own. He also stayed busy with his jab to keep donaire respectful while he maneuvered around the ring.

Dude was a general in there.

Arum and people saying Rigo needs to throw more explain to me why Donaire gets a pass while being less busier of the 2

That first round really set the tone. Donaire tried to be pretty aggressive but got clocked several times and staggered back a couple, he felt Rigo's power and after that first round really didn't try to be aggressive again till the 10th. Rigondeaux was too good.

I thought Rigo came out pretty aggressive himself. I mean, considering who he was fighting and his previous outings.

Is that how people are explaining a 114-113 score? The only one close was the 116-111. Ridiculous.

I counted about 8 total punches thrown between both fighters over 12 rounds. Lots of feints and soulful looks.

Actually that first punch set the tone of the fight. It only took 30 seconds for Donaire to feel Rigo's power and realize that it wasn't going to be an easy night.
