Comments Thread For: Mike Tyson Says Vegan Diet Helped Change His Life

Former heavyweight champion-turned-movie star Mike Tyson has credited his vegan diet for helping him find health and happiness.

In a new episode of Oprah Winfrey's Where Are They Now, which will air in America on April 9, Tyson reveals his lifestyle has given him new-found stability that has turned him into a better husband and father.

The Hangover star explains, "I'm not on drugs, I'm not out on the streets, I'm not in clubs. And, everything that I do now is just basically structured around the development of my life and my family.

I'm guessing stopping doing the coke would have had more effect on his blood pressure dropping, etc, than becoming a poncey ****ing vegan would.
Mike Tyson a vegan?? Say it ain't so.

I'm not a Vegan but this year I haven't eat meat 4/5 days a week week & have noticed the difference.

Also cut out processed foods & eating only fresh fruits & veggies on work days.

BUT - I just couldn't give up cheese. Lovely, lovely cheddar.

Hah, same here. I can go without or cut back on just about anything, but cheese -- man, it's just a weakness, lol.

Glad Mike is doing so well.

I've attempted to restrict meats many times in my life and it always felt good for a few days and eventually caused me to feel awful. Eating unprocessed foods along with meat keeps me feeling awesome. My girl goes vegetarian every year and it's a bear to deal with. She gets moody, tired, and has muscle pains. Always gives up after a couple months.

Regarding Tyson, society sees him as the poster boy for mental illness, I don't know that he's doing vegans any favors.

Doing the vegan thing during the week, and eating meat only on the weekends, might be the best of both worlds.
