Comments Thread For: Angelo Santana To Face Bahodir Mamadjonov on ShoBox

A replacement has been found. Lightweight puncher Angelo Santana (14-0, 11KOs) will now face Bahodir Mamadjonov (12-1, 8KOs), who accepted the fight on late notice. The match is going to happen on April 12th at Treasure Island Casino in Las Vegas.

The WBA's interim-lightweight crown is said to be at stake but there is no confirmation at the moment from the sanctioning body. BoxingScene.com reported last week that Santana's scheduled opponent Carlos Cardenas suffered a shoulder contusion during a sparring session on Monday.

I didn't think it would be, but I was concerned they might've gotten a terrible opponent for Angelo to fight. I don't know anything about Mamadjonov, but he seems okay. I'd just like to see Santana fight better opponents from now on.

At this stage its a good opponent. His only loss is too Darley Perez a pretty decent Colombian contender.Really hope Angelo does not have long left with DK and he can get away too a big promoter

King is 81. I don't see him staying in the game long, even if he's alive.

I can't say if he wont or will be but up until last summer he had been wasting Angelo.I think this is Santana's fifth year as a pro DK as with alot off his fighters in recent years has not done enough for him

The reason for my interest in Santana is obvious; but strictly from a fan's perspective, it would be a shame if a guy like Angelo didn't realize his full potential. The kid could be a star, with the right guidance.

I thought Bahodir beat Perez. IMO Bahodir has fought the better competition out the two of them. Should be a decent scrap.

Good. The better the competition for Santana, the happier I'll be.

Pretty damn good fight for a replacement on one weeks notice.
