Commonwealth Light-Heavyweight Champion Ovill McKenzie and Enzo Maccarinelli will face each again at Wembley Arena on Saturday 20th April after their first fight ended in a storm of controversy.
When they clashed last November in Liverpool, McKenzie retained his title with a second round stoppage of the Swansea puncher with referee Ian John Lewis stepping in to stop a barrage of punches from the Derby hitter.
Many ringside observers felt that Maccarinelli - a former WBO World Cruiserweight Champion who won the British title in his previous fight against Shane McPhilbin - was halted prematurely after he was holding his own against McKenzie.
Both fighters wanted to do it again and the fight will now feature as chief-support on Frank Warren’s bumper Wembley Arena show, alongside Liam Walsh’s WBO European Lightweight title defence against former two-time World Champion Scott Harrison, on the undercard of Nathan Cleverly’s WBO World Light-Heavyweight title defence against Robin Krasniqi, live and exclusive on BoxNation (Sky Ch. 437/****** Ch. 546).
