No Joel Julio on tv? BS I tell you! TO be honest, I like Sugar Shane and might have bought the damn card if they put Julio and Brock on the televised undercard but without Julio I'm less than thrilled

well, at this point, i'm not buying it.. so far it looks like Showtime will, once again, be way ahead of HBO as far as the first part of 2006 goes, just look at the stats of cable to pay:
HBO Programming-
1-21 Erik Morales-Manny Pacquiao (Pay $50 (although this one is finally worth the money))
1-28 Arturo Gatti-Thomas Damgaard (Free)
2-25 Fernando Vargas-Shane Mosley (Pay $50)
3-04 Miguel Cotto-Gianluca Branco (Free, so should i watch this or potentially one of the greatest Super-middleweight fights ever over on the other channel, come on HBO, what were you thinking here?..)
3-18 Hasim Rahman-James Toney (Free, to their credit, good one here)
3-25 Jesus Chavez-Marco Antonio Barrera (Free, but no official word yet, might not happen)
4-08 Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. TBA (Pay $50, speculated.. if TBA is Hatton, i'd buy it, anyone else... well..)
Showtime Programming-
1-06 Shobox - Raul Martinez-Andres Ledesma, Joel Julio-Robert Kamya (Free)
1-07 O'Neil Bell-Jean Marc Mormeck, Zab Judah-Carlos Baldomir (Free)
2-03 Shobox - Sechew Powell-Eric Mitchell, Andre Berto-TBA (Free)
2-04 Jose Luis Castillo vs. Diego Corrales 3 (Free)
3-04 Jeff Lacy-Joe Calzaghe (Free)
so far, not even a single PPV charge from Showtime, with either Castillo/Castillo or Lacy/Calzaghe easily being PPV-type fights. Until HBO stops being stubborn, Showtime will continue to have the edge.Last edited by restless_438; 01-12-2006, 02:18 PM.

Oh yeah. I think he should be peppered throughout 5-6 PPV cards in 06, kind of like how Chavez Jr. is used. He could use the experience of fighting in a place like Boardwalk Hall or Mandalay Bay. Its probably a bad idea to order PPV's for the undercards (like buying a bad movie on dvd for the extras) but it makes the pill easier to swallow knowing you get to see such an exciting and promising fighter. It is frustrating to know he'll fight there that night but not be on ppv tv. They should have B-team announcers and just show the whole 8 hour card and bring out the star announcers for the last three fights. I never understood why you don't get to see the whole undercard
