Comments Thread For: Lundy vs. Postol Early FIght Results From Kiev

Highly regarded cruiserweight bomber Dmytro Kucher (21-0, 15 KOs) took the long road to a well deserved victory, dominating Brazilian veteran Julio Cesar Dos Santos (22-2, 20 KOs) over twelve rounds. The WBC #4, IBF #6 and WBO #13 ranked Ukrainian was in full control of the fight but didn't press for a knockout against the opponent, whose only goal was to survive the bout. All three judges had it identically: 120-108 - for Kucher. There wer no knockdowns.

        Lundy didn't work heard enough

Lundy was in it and could land the jab to get him close but he simply didn't let his hands go enough. Every time he stopped and turtled, Postol scored to the body and head. Lundy did a lt of whiffing in the fight, throwing shots from too far outside. If he pressed better, he might have had a better result but he boxed as if he thought he was winning. He was never damaged but fought without the urgency he needed.
