Comments Thread For: Marquez Says Bradley is in The Running For Next Fight

Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez (55-6-1, 40KOs) has confirmed that WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (30-0, 12KOs) is high on the list for his next fight.

A few days ago BoxingScene.com published an article where Marquez expressed his desire to capture a fifth world title in a fifth weight division and said the WBO title was his target. He felt the title should have been his in 2011 when he lost a controversial majority decision to Manny Pacquiao. Marquez felt the judges robbed him.

Bradley-Marquez isn't like Bradley-Pac or Provo. Different styles. Marquez doesn't do well if he's forced to lead, and regardless if landing two punches that mattered in the Pacquiao fight, physically he's passed it. Still a good fighter and good enough to beat most, but Bradley-Marquez won't look anything like Bradley-Provo or Pac.

I give the slight edge to Bradley in this fight, as much as I'd love Marquez to KO him.. he is old and is NOT fighting his greatest rival.
