Comments Thread For: Arum on Matching Pacquiao, Marquez, Rios, Bradley

The Junior Welterweight and Welterweight divisions are undoubtedly the two hottest and deepest divisions in the sport of boxing today. There is a deep pool of talent there along with some of the most recognizable names in the sport including the two biggest stars - Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

While Golden Boy Promotions Richard Schaefer recently announced his plans to stage a 140 pound tourney with his stable of fighters, Top Rank founder and CEO Bob Arum also has a group of fighters he’ll be pitting together in the coming months in the Welterweight division.

BoxingScene spoke to Arum regarding some of the potential matchups we can see in the near future.

How can this situation where they only do in-house fights be described in the context of "good news"? It's a shambles.

        First hiphop now boxing?

So unless ur under TR or GB ur SOL!!!!! Boxing is now Target and Walmart two major companies monopolozing the business. I feel sorry for boxing fans who only got to witness the 80's and 90's and even the early 2000's on Youtube or DVD's. Because today's boxing is a bunch of careful matchmaking and in-house fighting. Thank God I was able to witness boxing when it was at its APEX !!!!

This is sad, they are suppose to be business men.
Why can't they sit down like business men and do what's best for boxing?

GBP has the bigger stable but TR has the better fighters. Remember Floyd is not a GBP fighter. He gives them the part of the steak he doesn't want to eat. TR has 3 bonafide P4P fighters, 4 if u count Bradley. You'd be reaching to name one for GB.
