Just a peach of an uppercut. Looked to the world like it was the KO punch. Amazing heart and determination to get up, though he was never going to have the legs to survive.

I'll never understand how Maidana got up from the 2 body shots by Kahn. Those were perfectly placed, perfectly timed, and both landed really hard, the way maindana went down usually means it's over.
I've never seen anyone else get up from body shots like that.

2 that always stuck out to me are morrison vs ruddock and tyson vs ribalta.
Morrison turned ruddock's head around with a left hook and the camera panned away for a few seconds while morrison went a neutral corner...and when it went back ruddock was already up.
Tyson nearly tore ribalta's head off with a right uppercut and ribalta just looked at him like he was mad and got right back up.

Ward was a far superior body puncher too and a more natural 140 pounder.

Khan doesn't have any body punch KO's. his punches are quick but not heavy. also the KD came early without any accumulative damage.
Gassiev is a much heavier body puncher.

It's rare to see a fighter immediatey drop to the canvas the way Maidana did from those body shots, and get up.
The only time I was ever down was a body shot, I couldn't move afterwards.
Not normal to see a boxer rolling around in pain the way Maidana was, and still get to his feet.

nah.
it's very rare to get knocked out with a bodyshot in 2 rounds.
usually the midsection is softened up through accumulative damage.
