Comments Thread For: Richard Abril: I Want Brandon Rios Rematch After Bogere

BoxingScene.com recently caught up with WBA lightweight champion Richard Abril (17-3-1, 8KOs) who faces Sharif Bogere (23-0, 15KOs) on Saturday at the Hardrock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Abril's last fight was his controversial loss to Brandon Rios which also took place in Sin City. He said that he isn't worried about the judging this time around because he won't leave any doubt who won the fight.

Personally I think Rios beats him when he's not weight drained.

Abril did get robbed in the first fight though, no denying it.

Rios needs to demand a good ref on this one. A ref who penalizes excessive holding.

And I hope Rios takes this challenge.

Rios was being beat by Acosta. Acosta is nowhere near the BOXER Abril is nor as durable. Abril will beat Rios 9/10 times. Hell even Alvarado was beating Rios from the outside.

I just hope Abril is not looking past Bogere.

Abril's style and skills make it a very tough night for Brandon. However, in all fairness to Rios, he's the type of guy who would be happy to take a challenge for what promises to be a war. Richie isn't about that. He would do exactly what he did in the first fight and frustrate "Bam Bam." Neither Rios nor his team want any part of that. I'd be quite surprised if Abril ever got his rematch.
