Lee Selby retained his British and Commonwealth featherweight titles with a comprehensive points win over Martin Lindsay at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast. The Welshman once again showed he's adept at fighting in an opponent's backyard, two judges giving him the fight by a 118-110 scoreline with the other marking it 117-111 in his favour.
Local favourite Lindsay was roared on by the home crowd and while he did occasionally land some heavy shots of his own, his moments of success proved to be fleeting over the 12 rounds. Indeed, the 30-year-old former British champion - whose only previous defeat came against John Simpson back in 2010 - did well to hear the final bell, particularly after taking some heavy punishment at the end of the 10th round. However Lindsay battled bravely to survive, becoming the first man in the process to push Selby the full distance.
