Comments Thread For: Ben Murphy Has Decided To Retire From Boxing

Ben Murphy has announced his retirement after his loss to Martin Gethin for the vacant British lightweight title last week.

The pint-sized powerhouse was stopped in the ninth round of last week's Walsall showdown.

"I don't think there's much left," Murphy said.

"Physically, my body feels good, but the passion and drive aren't there any more.

"I had to wait around a long time to get my chances and maybe that's why the fight in me has dwindled."

He seems like a nice guy so wish him all the best , but tbh I don't think he's really ever been that great the theoplane fight hyped him up abit I don't think he'd have won that fight at any point in his career

He's a cool guy and really intimidating for his size. Probably the best decision.
