Comments Thread For: Martinez Responds To Chavez: Accept Drug Testing!

I look at it like this. Martinez has said he only wants to fight 3 more times, including Murray.
so that's only 2 fights left if he beats Murray
Mayweather or Alvarez at 154
or Chavez at 160.
those 3 fights are PPV fights but outside of that it's just HBO money.
Chavez rematch is a lock unless Mayweather actually wants to risk it and face him later this year.
other than that the Chavez fight is going down period, as long as they both win. so forget about what Martinez says about testing it's all just talk.

Jr has gotten by with too much for too long, probably because of his Pop's influence. So why not make him tow the line, finally? I'm glad Sergio is in the drivers seat. This punk Jr will never have an ounce of humble in his soul, so why not make him do what he should've done all along? Anyway, this will be another Jr. pasting. Sergio is too fast and slick for a plodder.

However, one has to wonder whether that thrashing he took in the last round has anything to do with his demands for drug testing. I get the feeling he is more reluctant to take the rematch, given what happened to him in the last round.

if i were chavez senior, i would strip that biiiaaaaaaatch of his legendary name and throw him to dogs, nothing but shame.
im not a lover of sergio and i do think the knockdown was worrying for him and in a return but, the boy dont deserve nothing from anyone.
****.

My belief is that he didn't want to give Chavez any reason to not accept the fight, so he dropped that demand. Now that Sergio is in the driver's seat, he has the leverage to demand the testing. I still don't think Chavez belongs at MW, and it wouldn't surprise me if he was taking shortcuts. It's not like he hasn't been caught before.

Lol at Chavez calling Sergio "afraid"
After he dominated so effortlessly for 11 rounds the only thing he can be afraid of is doing permenant damage to Chavez.
Personally Id like to see a return so Martinez can finish the job and get a stoppage but Junior certainly doesnt deserve one. His performance was poor and he got failed a drugs test so he should join the back of the queue.

Outside of Mayweather, Chavez will be Sergio's biggest payday. In terms of legacy, he should fight one of the other title holders and try to unify the division.

i think by drug testing chavez actually gains from it seeing as he tested positive for marijuana last time it would help him to maybe stay clean and focused this time around. so he really should just accept it if he wants the rematch so badly. I just watched the fight again last night and martinez definately dominated the whole fight up until the 12th rd and he honestly got kinda lucky that he slipped after the knockdown to buy himself some time cause he looked pretty damn hurt. i dont think chavez really deserves a rematch based on that knockdown since he was basically a cruiserweight that night and I really dont like chavez jr but i wouldnt mind seeing a rematch for entertainment purposes i still think there are better fights for martinez though
