Comments Thread For: Froch Will Likely Avoid Cleverly Showdown, Says Warren

Promoter Frank Warren is still holding out hope that IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch (30-2, 22KOs) will reconsider the possibility of moving up in weight to challenge WBO king Nathan Cleverly.

Froch-Cleverly is huge fight for the UK. Froch has other plans and his schedule looks full. Rematches with Mikkel Kessler and Lucian Bute will likely take him into 2014 when everything is said and done in the ring. Cleverly (25-0, 12KOs) is looking to unify his division, but first he has to contend with mandatory challenger Robin Krasniqi on March 16th.

And again! 2nd story where the writer has just lifted a line from Warrens own article and written a piece around it. I know its a slow news period but come on!

LOL @ VXRandall, it's so true..

Why should Froch even fight Nathan? The Welshman is a pretender while Froch is doing Britain and Boxing proud.

Scandalous "reporting"! How delusional is Warren? A far better matchup? Nobody cares about cleverly! I actually used to think he had decent talents, but he needs to leave frank warren. He's a champion but no one really knows him. Disgraceful. Even more so because its actually a good division!

                lol @ froch avoiding cleverly.

                1. cleverly hasnt earned a fight with froch.
                2. they arent even in the same weightclass.
                3. froch would murder cleverly with one hand tied behind his back.

the fact that he doesnt fight guys like cleverly is one of the reasons we love froch. he wants the best, he knows he could make good money walking straight through guys like cleverly and degale but he knows its bad for boxing and doesnt do anything for his legacy.

if cleverly wants froch he will have to beat someone with a pulse, as he should. but we all know he doesnt really want froch, just trying to get his name out there. i dont think anyone is really ****** enough to think froch is avoiding nathan fcking cleverly either.

Froch/Cleverly is a massive fight for... Cleverly and that's it. Warren can't get on SKY and Cleverly has fought the worst opposition possible. Why would Froch even consider moving to a different weight class to give this guy a pay day.

Froch earned his spot at the A-table by fighting the best consistently and by being willing to travel and by beating A-class rivals. Cleverly hasn't even beaten a B-class rival in his own weight class yet.
