Comments Thread For: Bute States That Froch Rematch Could Land in The Fall

Former super middleweight champion Lucian Bute (31-1, 24KOs) says the rematch with Carl Froch could "take place in the fall." Bute was stopped by Froch in five rounds on May 26th. There was a rematch clause for a return bout in Montreal. Both fighters have already taken interim-fights. Bute won a tough decision over Denis Grachev at a catch-weight of 170-pounds, and Froch knocked out Yusaf Mack.

I'm not too sure who's shirt Bute wears, but if it's Romania's then he could lobby the EBU for a crack at the vacant European title @ 168Lb. However if he's Canadian this week it leaves the oppertunity for a crack at Commonwealth champ George Groves. Whatever happens he needs to be fighting as frequently as possible.

I don't think Bute really want the rematch next, it better froch pursues the Kessler fight.

        Looks the most likely outcome.

Kessler in the Spring with Bute later in the year, would like to see Froch fight a third and it be a meaningful fighter too, no Yusaf Mack.

        Kessler > Stevenson > Bute

        Hopefully?

Anyone remember when Bute claimed Kessler was 'afraid' of him and he turned down a $1,5m offer?? Haha. At this moment in time I believe Bute would lost against George Groves.

This is a good move by Bute. He needs a few more tune-ups to get his confidence back before the rematch.

              This year Bute lost everything...
He would have better respond to Andre Dirrel's call rather than fight Froch in England.

Bute's too old for a career rebuilding...

Edwin Rodriquez Off To Monte Carlo

Bute's next fight won't be Rodriquez...as it now appears Edwin is off to fight in a four (4) boxers - two (2) fight tournament in Monte Carlo (March and then June). If he wins them both, he brings home $1 million....and grows his fan base in Europe. Bute is old news.
