Comments Thread For: Team Gesta: We're Looking To Knock Vazquez Out

Undefeated Filipino southpaw Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta will pounce on every opportunity for a knockout when he battles IBF lightweight champion Roberto Vazquez on the undercard of Pacquiao - Marquez IV at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on December 8.

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum who gave Gesta the opportunity to fight for the world title said “what he’s got to do is to stay on this guy and pressure him from beginning to end. That’s the only way he can beat somebody like that.”

Shortly afterwards the Manila Standard spoke to Gesta’s trainer and co-manager Vince Parra from his Big Bear training camp in California and Parra told us “we plan on fighting three minutes of every round. We’re obviously looking for a knockout but that’s not first and foremost, just to win every round and dominate the fight and leave no questions to the judges if it makes it that far.”

Gesta has the tools to beat Vasquez. Remember he's a Filipino and the score is 23-13 Philippines...

Gesta wins again no doubt. And by KO in six rounds. Mark my words.

Yeah right.. Gesta thinks he's gonna knock out Titere Vazquez? well Lenny Zappa thought he could knock him out too, Prescott thought he could knock him out. Canelo Alverez could not knock him out at welterweight, Tim Bradley could not knock him out either. Seems like Gesta thinks Vazquez is gonna be an easy beat? hmm.. seems like Gesta has no respect for Titere Vazquez??? Gesta has not yet challenged a fighter with the high skill level of Vazquez. Actually, Miguel is probably going to knock Gesta out. Miguel Vazquez is too fast and too smart of a fighter. Gesta made a bad career decision by deciding to take on Titere Vazquez.

Which he means he will get easily outboxed, and since he isn;t a FILIPINO superstar, the judges wont be saving him.
