By Jake Donovan - The main event has changed several times over, but the show goes on in Hallendale Beach, Florida.
Angelo Santana squares off against Juan Garcia in the evening's makeshift main event. The bout was originally slated as the co-feature, but received an upgrade when Omar Henry was forced to withdraw from his middleweight showdown against Juan Ubaldo Cabrera - himself a replacement for James de la Rosa - after being hospitalized for gallstones.
The latest main event nearly fell apart at the scales, when Santana (13-0, 10KO) came in 1.75 lb. over the lightweight limit, after listening to very bad advice from his handlers who decided it was wise to monitor his weight on a non-digital scale. The transplanted Cuban - now based out of Miami - was given two hours to sweat off the weight, but could only get as low as 135.2 lb.
Garcia (13-0, 8KO) was forgiving of the 0.2 lb. overage and agreed to proceed with the fight. The Showtime appearance marks the second of 2012 for the native of Holland, Mich. His network debut came earlier this year, scoring an upset decision win over previously unbeaten Yordenis Ugas. [Click Here To Read More]
