Comments Thread For: Moreno Dropping Back To 118, Kameda-Ruiz Winner

Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno (33-2-1, 12KOs) arrived back home in Panama and announced that he plans to return to the bantamweight division to defend his WBA "super title." Moreno had received special permission to move up in weight to challenge WBC champion Abner Mares last Saturday in Los Angeles. Moreno lost a twelve round unanimous decision and doesn't plan to stick around at 122-pounds.

this was a great fight. It was just disgusting how the scorecards made it look so lopsided. I can see Moreno beating everyone @ 118 fairly easily - he should have one or 2 fights back @ 118 then he should consider some kind of strength conditioning and go back up to 122 in a yr or so. He's so crafty he makes interesting fights so as a fight fan I wouldnt want to see him fade away from the HBO and SHO names.

thats whack. he should stay 122 and just get another strength and conditioning guy. he can def cause some damage at that weight.

didn't he weigh 132 lbs on fight time against mares? i think he should stay at 122...not a lot of good fights for him at 118 especially if sta cruz will also move up.

This fight was actually really close, if you take out the BS point reduction. He should stay at 122.

He should stay at 122, he's been a champ at 118 for a while. I had the fight 7-5 Mares, but Moreno could've won if he stepped it up a little, the deduction was BS, Mares get's away with dirty blows whether he means it or not.
