Comments Thread For: Alexander vs. Brook Will Be a "Night of Welterweights"

According to Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, Devon Alexander (24-1, 13KOs) vs. Kell Brook (29-0, 19KOs) will be the crowning ***el of a Showtime televised all-welterweight tripleheader - which may become a quadrupleheader. There will also be two welterweight fights on Showtime Extreme. In all, there could six welterweight fights that night, says Schaefer, with Alexander defending his IBF title against Brook in the main event.

I think some of the best fight promotion is when the undercards have a significant fight or two that have implications on the main event.

Set the stage where the winners face each other and losers face each other.

I agree. It adds to the interest when the winners of the card are in line to possibly fight each other.

this is probably going to be a similar card as their barclays event...decent but nothing intriguing

the only other name fighters they could have ready for that date are maidana or paulie but they probably wont be fighting eachother if its going to be a triple or quadruple header

How great would this card be?

                    Kell Brook vs. Devon Alexander
                    Marcos Maidana vs. Lucas Matthysse
Josesito Lopez vs. Pablo Cesar Cano

could be an awesome triple header that has no shot at happening. Would like to see Lopez make his return against Cano though.
