Comments Thread For: Khan Does Not Blame Freddie Roach For Recent Defeats

AMIR KHAN has defended himself in the face of strong criticism for appearing to blame Freddie Roach’s Parkinson’s disease for his split from the trainer.

Former undisputed light-welterweight champion Khan and Roach parted company in the wake of his upset defeat by Danny Garcia in August and the 25-year-old has since appointed Virgil Hunter as his coach.

Crazy if he tried to blame Roach that would be a weak copout. Maybe he can blame Prescott and Garcia for hitting him and Peterson for out working him.
Or better yet take the blame himself for failing when it counted. Take it like a man for a change and quit whining! No one cares!

your writers are getting worse and worse, Khan has never been undisputed champion in any weight, do a bit of research!!!! Khan did say that parkinsons was to blame for him firing Roach, Khan and 100% of his team are complete morons who know zero about boxing and have absolutely no class at all, the sooner this fool is out of the sport the better

Dude that's exactly what he said on twitter? He blames himself and says Freddie is one of the best. Come on man, stop hating and read the script. You also need to understand how journalism works.

I admire Freddie Roach - loved the HBO series - think he's a very good trainer. He's an inspirational figure not just in boxing but in sport and life. His three main pupils all lost in 2012 (except Manny) and one can only wonder if Parkinsons has in some way reduced Freddie's capabilities at elite level. If there was something he couldn't give his fighters in camp this time that he once could.

Ultimately every fighter makes his choice and goes into the ring alone and lives and dies by his own skills, courage and toughness. You can't blame the guy you hired and stuck with for 2-3 years for a knock-out loss by a punch that didn't land flush, just because he has Parkinson's Disease.

And I don't think Amir Khan really was. He was simply saying it's hard to watch a disease overtake someone. And it is.
