  • Comments Thread For: Mauricio Herrera on Mayfield: This is The Fight of My Life!

Mauricio Herrera has a healthy respect for Karim Mayfield, but also believes Mayfield is in for the most difficult fight of his six-year pro career tonight.

Their 10-round, junior-welterweight bout in Verona, N.Y., is one Herrera realizes he must win if he is to get his career back on track. Herrera (18-2, 7 KOs), of Lake Elsinore, Calif., lost a 10-round unanimous decision in his last fight against Mike Alvarado (33-1, 23 KOs).

Unless Mayfields power is truly world class Herera should be to capable and crafty enough to get the W.

Mayfield is good, sneaky with his power, underrated speed, well conditioned, very confident fighter, he will bring it to Herrera 2nite - his last couple fights have come from dominant KO's against good opposition

I'm sorry I'm just not impressed with Mayfield from what I've seen of him.

Maybe he'll change my mind tonight.

Mayfield reminds me of a faster K9 right hand - fall in - grapple - repeat-

One elemnet to this fight that could cause issues is Herrera bruises , swells upon entering the ring so how long will his face hold up he's proven able to make it through before but could this be the nite he doesn't given Mayfields bull tactics.

Herrera you need to start pulling off the W in these fight of your life soon or it might be too late.

intresting fight I dont like mayfield he seems like a dumb truck, he trys to wrestle you and throw that hard right over and over and over thats it.

            Hope Herrera pulls it off.

Yeah. It's hard to explain. He looks to land one punch. If he misses, he clinches. Then once they separate, he does the same thing again over and over.
