Comments Thread For: Rafael Maruqez Sick, Wilfredo Vazquez Clash in Doubt?

Former champion Rafael Marquez (41-7, 37KOs) is suffering from a stomach infection and there are now doubts about whether or not the Mexican boxer can proceed with his scheduled fight against Puerto Rico's Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. (21-2-1, 18KOs). The fight is scheduled for October 6th, for the WBO Iternational super bantamweight crown, in Bayamon.

Its time to retire for Marquez, Im 100% sure that Marquez isnt scared of Vazquez Jr, but his body is not capable for fighting anymore

When your body starts rebelling, that's when it's time to let it go. Hope Arum has a back-up for Vasquez.

This. Marroquin presents a height/reach problem for Rigo, but he's just a prospect. What I don't like is that people would start comparing how Rigo and Donaire did against Vasquez.

his body not cooperating anymore? such a shame it has to be that way, the sad price to pay after giving it your all in the ring. those crazy fights with izzy they were never the same after they were through with each other. and to think that he is the younger of the marquez bros. anyhows, just goes on to show why fewer and fewer epic fights are happening. there seem to be not much benefit to gain in the long run..
