Comments Thread For: Chad Dawson Ready: I Won't Be Drained, Dehydrated

Chad Dawson doesn’t anticipate any issues Friday when he steps on the scale in Oakland, Calif., for his super middleweight title fight Saturday night against Andre Ward.

The 30-year-old Dawson hasn’t had to make the 168-pound limit in 6˝ years, yet contends he feels “great” as his 12-round fight with Ward at Oracle Arena approaches (HBO; 9:45 p.m. EDT).

Well he not going to say I've been feeling weak and drained on the eve of the big fight is he now.

Dropping 7 pounds of muscle damages you.

I don't doubt Chad not being drained and dehydrated for the weigh-in, but for him to enter camp at 180 he had to continue training after the Hopkins fight. He weighed in at 191 the day of the Glen Johnson rematch.

He looked strong and solid in his last fight at 168 against Ian Gardener as if he didn't need to move up. Dawson's one of the few prospects confident enough to move up a division without having a need for it just because it had more attractive opportunities. If he loses, it'll be because of Ward not the weight.

I absolutely agree with Chad that the dieting will make him meaner and he does lack that in the ring sometimes, I think 168 will be good for him and in the ring he will be significantly bigger than Ward

Mr. Ward is in another league and Mr.Dawson will receive a boxing lesson and beating.

Chad was smart to cash in this early.
There was simply nowhere for him to go to earn a decent payday in a very dehydrated division.

Ward about to have Mosley-Forrest moment.

Chad is going to beat the crap out of him.

Drained or not. No excuses. You took the fight. No one wanted to see it. No one asked for it. Deal with it.

I dont care if hes toothpick tomorrow. No excuses from me. Because this fight coudve waited. Hopefully they are 100%.
