Comments Thread For: Arum, 50 Cent Have Spoken Since Mayweather's Release

Top Rank's CEO, Bob Arum, told BoxingScene.com that he has spoken to 50 Cent since Floyd Mayweather Jr. was released from jail earlier this month. The rapper apparently is hopeful of becoming the next big-time promoter, and Arum has said he believes he could make a fight between Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao if Mayweather lets 50 Cent promote his side rather than Golden Boy, which has helped Mayweather promote has past six fights.

I'm a lot more exited about Martinez vs Chavez than this fight, I wanted this fight 1,2 years ago...I lost a whole lot of respect for this two divas.

I will still watch it, but I don't care if it does not happen, I know who wins anyways.

The difference is Mayweather most likely is going to be promoted by TMT and 50 Cent also confirmed that they've spoken. That said, I'll still believe it when I see it.

The problem is Bob Arum has been making fights for decades. It doesn't matter if it's Don King, 50 cent, or Mickey Mouse. If Bob wants the fight he WILL make it happen. In the meantime he has an agenda and Floyd is nowhere on it and hasn't been on it for years.

He uses Floyd's name to promote Pac. He won't let Pac fight FLoyd until he has exhausted all his options. If he where to let Pac fight Floyd years ago, that lie about Pac being the next man in line to beat Floyd would have been exposed and all the hype would have died. Bob's not ******, he's been in the game for decades and understands how to promote fighters. Besides, he's admitted to protecting his fighters so it would benefit his pockets down the line.

This fight doesn't even matter anymore, Pacquiao's lost his hunger for boxing. Would've been a close fight 2 years ago.

                    Please just shut up!

This isn't news worthy. Arum is old and just love the spot light.
