Comments Thread For: Provodnikov Eager: I Can Defeat Juan Manuel Marquez

Junior welterweight contender Ruslan Provodnikov (22-1, 15KOs) is eager to get in the ring with WBO 140-pound champion Juan Manuel Marquez (54-6-1, 39KOs). The Mexican superstar is being considered as a potential opponent for Manny Pacquiao in the fall. If Pacquiao selects another opponent, Provodnikov has been mentioned as a possible option for Marquez's first defense of the WBO crown.

I'd like to see Provo prove the naysayers wrong. There have been bigger upsets in boxing history..

Provodnikov is #2 WBC, so why not? If JMM wins, he could fight the winner of Rios/Alvarado.

So should Marquez wait for Rios/Alvarado? Or continue to hold out for Pac?
