Two weeks shy of his 37th birthday, Paul Spadafora finally seems to understand that he cannot afford to waste any more time if the skilled southpaw is to revisit the place he occupied 10 years ago.

After taking his first significant step toward a meaningful fight by winning Saturday night, “The Pittsburgh Kid” cannot wait to prove he belongs again.

“I just want the boxing world to give me another shot,” Spadafora told BoxingScene.com. “I’m just going to be busy and I’m going to prove to everybody that I belong in the ring with anybody.”

Spadafora proved he still can fight Saturday night, when he easily out-pointed rule-bending former contender Humberto Toledo in an eight-round fight at Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort in Chester, W. Va. A crowd of nearly 2,000 attended Spadafora’s fight, which was held about 45 miles from Pittsburgh. [Click Here To Read More]

    Spadafora shot a girl

This felon con deserves nothing in boxing. Keep this low life Spadafora away from all decent people. Amazing how a felon gets publicity.

I don't know if that is really fair bud. What is boxing if not the sport of second chances?

Spadafora vs Jose Luis Castillo would be a good match on ESPN FNF.

Second. It's too bad Spada chose to be a menace to society. Who knows where he could have gone. Shame he's fought no pulsers for the last several years due to his frequent ring inactivity.

It should be spadafora vs Hatton there both comming back the winner gets a title shot. Paul paid his dues plenty. I think you people that just bad mouth anyone out there that made mistakes in there lives are probably the ones who are hiding the most. Spadafora was in a bad situation in that part of his life, he never blamed anyone but himself or talked bad about anyone. The kid messed up there is no bout that he paid for it dearly and is still paying for it. Let the kid go and give him a chance I think he has it in him and he defiantly deserves a second chance at fixing his life. Go spaddy it takes a real man to do what you are doing don't listed to any of the idiots out there, (make your dream happen)....

Paul is and has always been a talented fighter

I truly hope at this stage in his career that he don't blow it at this last and final time. I fought him back in the begining of his career and knew then that he would be champion because like me being slick, he was the white sweet pea, plus his physical strenght is under rated although he's not a big puncher he does walk around pretty heavy so he is strong in that respect. All these people with negative comments should only motivate you Paul. Even if you never reach superstar status you have had what most could only dream of. "The Belt"

Maybe the publicity is a little much, but the ring is probably the best and only place left where legal beatings can be meted out. I don't hate, but I still relish the day when the object of my ire gets a thumping in the ring. Paul has to know that a lot of people are waiting for that day, but as far as I'm concerned Paul needs to step up the competition..

I never considered him 2 b even close 2 elite & he fought far-less talented boxers...after a prision term hee's saying he wants 2b what he never was, now @ a hier wt...they'll feed him easy wins 2 manuever him 2 a possible title shot...IMO, 1st time vs an elite he's gone, & I don't mean JLC, who's pretty much gone himself...
