If The Fiddy Team is using that date as its launching card, I think GB would be well served to just leave it be.

Why is that? This is about getting paid and competition for market share. These promoters may be able to work together on matching fighters, but when it comes to the VERY limited number of television dates, it's a whole different story.

I agree with you to an extent, but considering TMT with Floyd's backing is going to have a huge BUZZ come ribbon-cutting time, and combine that with the bad press Canelo's next fight is getting being on the same night as Jr./Martinez, I would go with another date if I was Oscar and Schaefer. jmo.

Keep in mind, Oscar was making a tidy little profit by lending his promoters liscence to Floyd for his past however-many fights...I can't imagine that Goldy and Richard are happy about being cut out of the loop when the biggest fighter in the world (Money Mayweather) comes back to the ring. Something tells me the relationship between TMT and GB isn't gonna be all peaches and cream.

Who was BScene sources saying GBP grabbed the date? They need to be fired.

Your hunch is probably going to be spot on.

Just what we need right? More promoters beefing. Tell you what tho, if TMT can work with Top Rank they gonna **** on GBP. Starting with Floyd vs Pac.

Agreed that the frst TMT show is going to be a HUGE deal. HBO will go all out to try and stage this card.
They will do a broadcast triple header with Gamboa, Dirrell, and the Pacquiao replay. And probably even tie it in to a potential May-Pac fight finally happening April, 2013.

I can see Golden Boy trying to exert their influence with Espinoza to lock up that date on Showtime and using that as leverage to try and finalize a deal with TMT for the date. But, I expect HBO to pull out all the financial stops to get that TMT card.
