When talking to Alex Arthur I couldn’t help but get an image of the hitchhiker looking to get a lift into the Promised Land. Passers by take a glance, smile and then realise who it is and speed on past. The former world champion may be ready for one last tilt at the big time but no one is signing up for it quite yet.

At 34-years-old and sitting in the 140lb division Arthur is certainly talking the right game as well as looking the healthiest and strongest that he has arguably ever been. But with the offers of fights slim and none the Scot is ready to take matters into his own hands. [Click Here To Read More]

"Normally Nicky Cook wouldn't beat me in the month of Sundays..."

Talk about having an inflated opinion of himself! Arthur's never been above Cook's station (average handspeed, flat-footed), he's always been just a solid European-level fighter.

It's a shame the Guzman fight never happened, because Joan would've blasted him out and proved that fact. Instead the Dominican had weight issues, Arthur was handed the vacant belt and then lost it in his first defence! So you can't even really call him an ex-world champ, because he didn't beat anyone to win the title.

Drop to 135 and fight Harrison - surely that's the logical fight? He's looked bloated at 140, albeit I see now he's packed on a lot of muscle. But what use is that, really? Arthur was never particularly quick, so he's going to be even less quick carrying all the bulk around - I don't see how it helps him in any way.

Arthur is full of ****e. After the Cook bout he claimed it was a robbery (it wasn't). He's always thought he was better than he actually was.
