It's almost like people give them too much credit, they forget that these guys are/were human.
As much as I love Tommy Hearns, I still have to admit that when he got hurt he stayed hurt (When it counted). But I get attacked for saying that as if it's not the truth.
Ray Robbinson loaded up on his right hand way to much, he was also very wide (But he could do that because he was much faster than who he fought).
Speaking of "Who Ray fought"..... His over 100 KOs are always brought up, but has anyone ever really focused on just WHO these guys were?
It's not like he was fighting Lamatta night in and night out to get those KOs. Most those guys were straight up garbage men/cab drivers just getting off work.

I'm not bashing the old timers, I just realise that they are human (Not the SUPER DUPER TROOPERS people seem to make them)
    Am I wrong for that?

Meh, it might because some people have rose tinted glasses on when it comes to debate concerning fighters of certain era's. I'm not immune to this, myself. Guilty as charged.

I do think it's a mix, though. Some of the younger guys on here that really haven't seen enough to really judge vs the old heads who think their word is law when it comes to boxing history.

Instead of actual discussion, it turns into insults, in which both sides lose. (If they had anything to "WIN" arguing online in the first place.)

As long as you actually watched the fights and put things into context then yea I don't see why people should get upset. im pretty sure people only get upset when they can tell you're being disingenuous

when you get older believe me, you are going to be stuck trying to defend the Mayweathers of the world from younger fans who aren't going to want to watch him because most of his fighters were in Standard definition. it will be the black and white of the future
