Comments Thread For: Photos: Canelo Getting Down To Work in Training Camp

WBC 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (40-0-1, 29KOs) is taking his next defense very seriously. He returns on September 15th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, where he defends his title for the fifth time against WBC silver welterweight king Josesito Lopez (30-4, 18KOs). Canelo is working hard in Los Angeles camp, as he starts the second stage of his preparation.

Calm your hatred. Its not like this is the first time somebodies moved up 2 weight classes before. Mosley v ODH, Manny v ODH, RJJ v Ruiz, SRL v Duran 1, Marquez v Mayweather, Marquez v Manny. This is nothing new.

Mosley, Manny, RJJ, Duran, and Marquez are all Hall of Fame fighter's that were already great champion's when they moved up to face those guys. No disrespect to Lopez and I hope he somehow pulls it off but he's nowhere near as good as those guy's were when they moved up 2 divisions. THIS IS CHERRY PICKIN AT IT IT'S FINEST.

Isn't bullying a crime? Isn't Martinez against bullying? He should fight Canelo and beat the **** out of him.

But Canelo would try and drain Martinez, that's for sure. He makes people go up to his weight class but god forbid someone asks him to move up.

right it many not be, but i am pretty effin sure that this would be a first time that lmw has defended his belt against so many ww's and jww's (mosley, ndou, hatton, gomez) after capturing the belt vs a 140 pounder....

All I got to say is Lopez is going to show this pinche paisa his power, Chicano Power! Alvarez is already planning a December match-up, I guess he didnt learn from Ortiz, NEVER hold a good Chicano down!
