  • Comments Thread For: Andre Ward Has No Bute Regrets, Fight Still Possible

Super Middleweight unified champion Andre Ward is set to take on his first fight since winning Showtime’s Super Six Tournament when he faces Chad Dawson on September 8th at the Oracle Arena in his hometown of Oakland, CA. Many expected and wanted to see Ward take on now former IBF champion Lucian Bute in a fight for Super Middleweight supremacy but the fight never materialized.

Boring fight written all over Ward-Dawson. The son of the hugging and holding god better do his thing against Mr. Baddie or it's checkmate.

After we beat whats-his-face in September, we want Golovkin in December and then Ward, for the title, next April.

        60/40 split
        OST
        Texas.

lol...No. If you're referring to Ward talking about a fight with Bute, read the article again and you'll notice that nowhere does it mention he is willing to fight him "now." What he does say is basically what he's said before - Bute needs to prove himself. Now what that means is getting through his next fight and avenging his loss to Froch...then a fight would be possible. Hopefully Bute bulks up a little though and keeps his speed, because in his fight with Froch he looked very frail.

What do you mean now he is willing to fight him? Really, like Ward was scared of bute? Fans are fans - people are so quick to anoint someone who has not fought anyone, What made Bute such a beast? you have to be able to perform at the elite level, imagine the confidence Froch and ward gathered from fighting the best in there division? You only get trully good in this sport through competition, look at floyd how many championship fights and rounds has he gone? look it up, his last 30+ fights are on the championship level -

I would rather see a Bute fight still before I watch Ward vs either Dirrell......

                  Assuming he gets by Dawson

People over penalize losses. Froch's pressure and power was just bad news for Bute.

I think Ward vs. Bute would still be a good next fight for both.
