By Jake Donovan - As the 2012 U.S. Olympic boxing squad makes its final preparations before heading to London for the Summer Games, the lone medalist from the 2008 squad gears up for his stiffest challenge to date.

Wilder did need to be moved slow, but I think they have taken slow to new extremes with him. I think the guy has some tools and could eventually be good, but sooner or later he has to graduate from tomato cans to at least soup cans.

Wilder is being moved at the right pace, he had under 20 amateur fights when he was selected to represent team USA (17 I think) and the novice came away with a bronze medal, Probably the greatest amateur ever was brought in as his assistant trainer to gear him for the pros Mark Breland, and he has been consistantly improving... learning on the job, this is a good step up but it will be awhile yet before you can expect him to face a top 10 heavyweight.

Kelvin Price has very long arms and a good jab.

I can't imagine he'll be an easy win for Wilder.

agood seperation bout 4 both..Wilder w/little amateur xperience & still got a medal...shows how weak the world heavies are moving in2 pros...Price may give him a fight if he keeps his jab going and doesn't move straight in/out///

I'm satisfied with this fight. Also, two 6'7 boxers going at it should be entertaining on a certain level. The only other such fight I recall is Michael Grant vs Tye Fields (just a trivial point, but just saying).

Good analysis, I agree. I think I read somewhere that he was also working with Shelly Finkel?

Decent fight for Wilder at this stage of his development, might just make it the distance for once. Maybe he can even fight David Price by this time next year.

Kinda though Wilder would be a fair bit heavier by now, but he's down 6 lbs from a year ago.
