The idea of four fights can be better executed on paper than in the ring. Even if all of the fights go the distance, there can be enough action to make it worth the marathon. Saturday night on Showtime, we got four distance contests that occasionally brought about the question:

others guys could have made this telecast good...the Sho event was garbage, especially the Trout bout, Canelo will have his way w/him...Wright knew he had nothing left & took it 4 the $$ ...mayb he, Mosey (it was announced last night) stay retired & take hopkins & Tarver w/them...

Santa Cruz would agree with this assessment. He said himself that he was too young but he came to fight. Dude put o
      n a clinic.

Showtime didn't pass on Froch-Bute for this. They were hoping for Ward-Bute.

I enjoyed the Winky-Quillin fight. Winky was very aggressive and tried to make a fight out of it.

I think Winky Wright has basically been retired for 5 years now, right after the Hopkins fight. Popping in and out after 2-3 year layoffs is not good for a fighter in his late 30s.

Winky should have fought in 2008, 2010, 2011 instead of taking those years off.

That was a terrible call. You take the bird in hand, especially when Bute is fighting a proven commodity and Ward is being courted by HBO. They saved some money. I guess that's good.
