  • Comments Thread For: EBU Majority Vote Suspends LBF Due To Chisora vs. Haye

The European Boxing Union has voted in favour of suspending the Luxembourg Boxing Federation’s membership due to the LBF’s decision to sanction the July 14 meeting between David Haye and Dereck Chisora at London’s Upton Park venue.

BoxingScene understands that the EBU has passed a majority vote to suspend the LBF’s membership due to their involvement in the controversial heavyweight contest, the legitimacy of which Frank Warren, who manages Chisora, had justified in a statement on May 11 by pointing to the LBF’s good standing with the European Boxing Union.

For once, people are interested in a heavyweight bout & the governing bodies are doing their best to stop it.

if these guys are so interested in not bringing boxing into "disrepute" why dont they practice what they preach? i dont see tham complaining about real issues.

margarito got a license after having illegal wraps. that is worse in my opinion than letting haye and chisora fight.

mayweather is in jail for domestic assault yet the WBC have not stripped him. that is worse also in my opinion.

I think they should let them fight better for them to do it in the ring than outside on the street.
I don't get the logic of denying boxing fans the chance of witnessing a decent HW matchup.
Sure they had a little scrap but it's not the end of the world. If they wanted to make a point they should just dock a percentage from the fight and make them both do community service.

Who do these losers think they are fooling? This is the sport of boxing, for f***'s sake. A sport where two men beat each other with the intent of making sure the other cannot get up.

Every bullcrap sanctioning body or commission that is pretending outrage about this fight are pathetic and not fooling anyone. They are a bigger disgrace to the sport than either Chisora or Haye have ever been.

                  Morons.

Quit trying to make yourselves the center of attention. People want to see this fight, it's going to sell out an arena and it's going to be exciting; all things the HW division needs. They are acting like those over-active referee's who decide they want to be the main attraction at a fight instead of the fighters.

this is the most exciting heavyweight rivalry since in like 10 freaking years and all these men in suits are putting their crap in the way

they need to get over themselves as do the haters

look haye vs wlad, look at how much people were pumped? and now haye vs chisora, this brings back interest in the heavyweight division for gods sake, these boards are the ones killing boxing
