You cannot sit and agree that it was a circus act or a freakshow if you believe it was one of the pinnacle moments of the sport.Take your pick which one it was, because you already agreed in a previous comment that it was a circus freakshow.
Anyone who thinks this was one of the greatest moments in boxing history-please tell me why-this will be funny!
Oscar held all the cards and Oscar to duck Margarito chose to cherry pick a LW who just had one fight at 135. And, was at 130 earlier that year.
And, to see a guy who always handicapped his opponents, fought name fighters at the right time to benefit him. Always fought on his terms to get serve a taste of his own medicine cuz' of his own damn doing and quit on the stool.
Makes it one of the greatest nights in boxing history.

Be honest, because what you are essentially saying is that moving up a few weight classes and beating up a fighter who is shot, cannot pull the trigger, and is dead at the weight with needle marks in attempt to rehydrate, is one of the greatest moment in boxing.
You must place Marquez's robbery over Pac a de****able moment for the sport, because anyone with a set of eyes can see JMM won that-and he ballooned up from LW to do it!

Mosely, Cotto, Margarito, JMM 3rd fight, Morales, Barrera, Oscar, Hatton, etc.....they were all at the right time and right circumstances for MANNY. If Bradley pulls off the upset (which I lean towards NO) then it would be karma.
Yes Oscar fought Chavez, Pernell, Camacho, etc...but what he has done,is the same damn thing as Manny is doing ! I expect you to celebrate "the greatest moment in boxing "****ing" history" if someone puts a beatdown on Pac.Last edited by damned1974; 06-01-2012, 11:01 AM.

and if you state "well he fought Hatton as a 140lb fighter" then you fail to realize that the fight was the ONLY fight at that weight in his last 7
he's a welterweight stop acting like he's not

Pac has speed, skills, and footwork. And he can counter punch too.
At 154, the Pac of Marg fight will beat the Cotto of Floyd fight.

3 cw fights in a 50+ fight career
i dont get the hate if the opponent is ok with it? I think a lot of people, especially on this board, forget that the past greats had many cw fights. now i'm not going to sit here and criticize but c'mon man, relax a lil bit. talking tough behind a comp might be the new thing, but it aint that cool, in fact, you act more like a culo then anything....

Margarito is a pressure fighter,Manny is more of an ambush fighter.Pac would have trouble closing the distance...He cannot close the distance on Shane or Marquez when they took a few steps out of range.Even in Cotto's defeat, when he was on the backfoot to survive he didn't take many punches. If he FOUGHT off of the backfoot,he would give Pac hell and cause him to "have leg cramps" in the post fight interview-lol
