  • Comments Thread For: WBC Denies Jonathan Taconing a Porpramook Rematch

MANILA, Philippines- Filipino light flyweight contender Jonathan Taconing (13-2-1, 10KO's) was moments away from being crowned the new world light flyweight champion when he fought the defending titleholder, Kompayak Porpramook in Thailand. Taconing was getting the better of the fight and exchanges but an accidental headbutt followed by a right hook opened a small cut above the defending champion's left eye gave way for the shady officials to declare Kompayak Porpramook the winner by technical decision after 5 rounds of action.

If you're not a money maker, the WBC doesn't give 2 shits or a fuck about you. They bend the rules only for their favorites

Botom Line: JT got screwed & stay outta Thailand... judging is terrible & the promoters pay little 2 challengers, as this case...why fight in 100 degree+ heat at 3 PM ...makes no sesnse but 4 the Thai...hope he rematches Hernandez in Mex as he fafed badly from the heat after the 7th...

Good decision. The first fight wasn't nearly as controversial as a lot of ignorant, biased and delusional people would have you believe. Kompayak clearly won the first 2 rounds and arguably the 3rd too, which means that he deserved to retain the title. Yes the referee shouldn't have stopped the action when Taconing was landing some punches against the ropes and the cut should not have been enough to stop the fight, but it wasn't like Porpramook was on the verge of being stopped and anyone who thinks he was is being dishonest with themself.

The first 2 rounds were close, 1st round could've gone either way while the 2nd round is Kompayak's round. Rounds 3, 4, 5 and were definitely for Taconing. I think you are the biased one since you did not even mention the bull***** point deduction for Taconing when he was flurrying on the 5th round. The referee and 2 of the judges were obviously in the Thai payroll.
