  • Comments Thread For: Kell Brook is Ready For Carson Jones Challenge on 7/7

Kell Brook will face highly ranked Carson Jones at the Motorpoint Arena Sheffield on July 7 as an IBF World title shot draws a step closer.

Jones is ranked at number three by the IBF – two spots above Brook – and the stakes couldn’t be higher as the victor would move into pole position to fight for the title in the fall, which is being contested by current number one Mike Jones and number two ranked Randall Bailey on June 9 in Las Vegas.

    He's hardly world-class or, indeed, a contender.

You're right, man. I'm just pissed about their choice - guess there weren't any available alternatives.

Hope Brook pulls through. Def. needs to step it up, though.

I really like Brook but boy, that's a TOUGH fight for him. If he beats Jones I'll be very impressed. Then again I was thinking the same about Jackiewicz and that turned out pretty well.

Carson will either beat Kell or put him through hell. This is a toss-up fight.

Yup, Carson was severely mismanaged early in his career attributing to his not so glossy record. But that dude comes to fight and he has KO power. He is relatively young, hungry, and feels under appreciated, that's not good news for Kell. Brook will fight at home and he better get on his bike and make it to the end of the 12th because CJ is going to make it hell in there for him. Right now I'm leaning towards picking CJones by KO (that might change based on some fight tape research into Brook) but Brook is a good stick and move fighter from what I understand and he will have to stay far away from Jones' power hand to win. This looks like a 50-50 fight on paper and usually that means the power puncher comes out on top.
