Comments Thread For: De La Hoya Denies Rumor of Facing Canelo-Mosley Winner

Oscar De La Hoya dismissed rumors of a comeback during a press conference today in Las Vegas to promote the Saul Alvarez-Shane Mosley 154-pound title fight Saturday night.

Without prompting, “The Golden Boy” said he would not consider fighting the winner between the 21-year-old Alvarez (39-0-1, 29 KOs), whom De La Hoya’s company promotes, and the 40-year-old Mosley (46-7-1, 39 KOs, 1 NC), to whom De La Hoya has lost twice.

DLH trying to make himself relevant again, since Schaefer seems to have taken more of a lead role in the promotion, diminishing Oscar's role as the figurehead. Either that or he's just trying to create more hype for his hype-job. Guy is such a phoney

De la Hoya won that 2nd fight IMO. Plus Mosley was on PEDs, dont know why Oscar never tried to change it to a No Contest.

I think Oscar is gonna appeal to get that changed to a NC, but I think he's waiting for Mosley to retire. GBP is still doing business with Mosley so they may not want to attract any bad attention to Mosley... That or Oscar may have some skeletons in his closet that Mosley knows about. Remember about 2-3 years ago the NSAC was being put under pressure to release Oscar's urine or blood sample. For whatever reason they never did. Maybe it contained something. Something they were trying to hide because Oscar was Nevada's golden goose!
