Comments Thread For: Hatton Breaks Silence on Sky Sports Fallout, New TV Deal

RICKY HATTON has vowed to give his talent stacked stable a new television home after Hatton Promotions split from Sky Sports.

The boxing world was shocked when the television network decided not to give the European Promoters of the Year any further dates after their Manchester Velodrome super show on Saturday June 16.

Ricky Hatton GETS WAYYYYYY TOO MANY TOPICS, to not be an active boxer and to be around 2nd rate boxers.

Then why do you look at the threads? He is a HUGE name in the UK and even a pretty big name on the international level, his promotional company is taking off and will be big. Him getting topics is almost the same as DLH, Richard Schafer, Gary Shaw, and Bob Arum getting threads. Just because they aren't active boxers doesn't mean that they don't have an opinion or an impact on the sport.

It's a shame that Sky has cut ties with Hatton. I still think that he will be a successful promoter.

I just think Sky Boxing is losing money and needed to cut Hatton loose as the channel is running at a loss. I hope Hatton Promtions finds another platform soon; they have an awesome stable.

So Hatton will be siging a deal with Frank Warren to have his fighters on Boxnation. (even though they hate each other) Either that or C5 want to expand their boxing as no-one else will broadcast it.

Who does that leave Sky with other than Mathroom+Khan?

edit - actually on second thoughts, Warren would probably like to have Hatton promotions fail and refuse to show his fighters. and he probably cant afford it either
