i see a lot of this ppl dont understand floyd that well. i mean sure, the castillo fight is a blemish on his spotless record to many. however, lets not act like the augustus fight cant be considered the same. floyd got beat up pretty bad in that fight. and if u have ever watched floyd fight, u kno that he absolutely hates getting hit. whenever he get hit with a good shot, he comes back full force. this has always been floyd.

if uve seen the augustus fight, u know how badly he was busted up. to floyd that was most certainly a blow to his ego. hes never been touched up so bad thru his defense. so for ppl to act like castillo is an embarrassment to him and then say the augustus fight isnt, i dont think u understand the guy too well. the augustus fight was an embarrassment as well. most certainly. look at the way he acted when mosely hurt him in their fight. he was clearly embarrassed. imo, its totally fine for ppl to assume castillo is his worse fight. but i doubt mayweather saying it was augustus has anything to do with him somehow being ashamed to admit it was castillo. in fact castillo is considered the better fighter and he has many more excuses for why he performed poorly in that fight.

Anyone who's seen all of Floyd's fights knows that his fight with Augustus was his toughest. That's the only fight where Floyd got his nose broken.

Time for some more schooling, listen up folks:

I got a very good laugh at all of the posters saying things like "how can you say what his toughest fight is when Floyd said Augustus was?"

Using this faulty logic one could say "how can you say Rios lost the fight against Abril when he was the one fighting and said he won?". ya i know, you guys are starting to think "damn using this simple analogy I see your point (ughhh)"

Fighters like Floyd have other-worldly egos. When a potentially damaging blow to an ego (ex/ a controversial win over Castillo) is present, fighters will distract from this by playing up the "toughness" of another fight in which he won easily.

No doubt he would have beast Castillo easier in 1st fight if he wasn't injured, he showed us that in the rematch. that does NOT mean that the first fight wasn't his toughest when to anyone with 2 eyes and a competent working brain it was

he's not gonna say castillo because he wrecked the guts out of him when he fought without an injured shoulder

For f***'s sake, it's not hard to understand.
Your logic makes sense but you are missapplying it here. Yes it was his closest decision, but that doesn't necessarily mean it was the toughest fight.

floyd just contradicted his bf ellerbe...having augustus as your toughest fight is far from being the greatest fighter of all time.

Well said, good job. If a fighter admits that he might as well hang up the gloves in the first place because his will is too shot to fight anymore.
