Comments Thread For: Mayweather Says No Issue With Gloves For Cotto Bout

Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26KOs) doesn't have an issue with the glove size for his May 5th battle with WBA 154-pound champion Miguel Cotto (37-2, 30KOs), which takes place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mayweather had requested 8 ounce gloves for the fight, but the two fighters will use 10 ounce gloves.

Well at least that is cleared up. Would have been interesting to see them with 8oz gloves though.

          Cmon, really.

After a great workout like that.

The first thing I expected B.Scene to do was to hype up how great he looked and put photos up like you did with Cotto after he finished with his last week.

This is news but not that important in comparison to the actual training session. Could have saved it for the time being.

I'm sure a lot of people out there missed the training session and are probably intrigued to see how it went.

For 8oz gloves to be granted at 154 both fighters had to agree and Cotto wanted no part of 8oz gloves. His plan is to pressure Floyd and 154 is Cotto's division he has goten used to fighting with 10oz gloves and it protects his face a lot more. If Floyd can't hurt Cotto he will be in big trouble.
