Juan Manuel Marquez wouldn’t say much about the possibility of boxing Brandon Rios this summer.

The Mexican icon made it as clear as possible, however, that the only reason he decided not to retire was to chase a fourth fight against Manny Pacquiao. Marquez admitted he contemplated retirement following another narrow, controversial loss to Pacquiao on Nov. 12 in Las Vegas, but he ultimately agreed to oppose Ukraine’s Sergey Fedchenko on April 14 in Mexico City for the interim WBO junior welterweight title.

lmao how desperate can one get, as i predicted - all of marquez decisions for his career are based on pacquiao and pacquiao alone.

pac gave you 3 chances to beat him, and you lost all 3 times

and just for good measure, he left you looking like this

They were all close fights. Fights that he really thought he won. I can imagine that it's pretty frustrating. Especially since he had to wait 3 years for the rubber match. I thought he won the last fight.

I don't know why Marquez is insisting on this. Look, the large majority of boxing fans think he won the third fight, and very few people will look back on the trilogy and not think he should have gotten the nod in at least one of those fights. He has nothing to prove against Manny Pacquiao, and I hope he doesn't want this fourth fight because he thinks there is something to prove.

In today's boxing world, there is no reason for two fighters to fight more than three times.

Years down the road he will always be remembered for losing the 3 fights. He wants a W against Pac. There is no way they will fight again but I can't really blame him for wanting to prove that he can win. All 3 were close fights. I really felt that he should have gotten the nod in the last fight.

After Bradley ends the hype, it will be possible for Marquez to get the well deserved decision win officially.

I don't think so, I understand he wants and deserves a W against Pac, but 20 years from now people will not remember him for losing to Pacquiao. On the contrary, I expect most people to think even stronger than they do now that he was robbed in all three.

It was a good fight IMO. Another rematch would probably be another good fight IMO. If you want to talk about being desperate and maybe obsessesed? You should look in the mirror. Anything they post about Marquez, you're on it like you're on pac's nuts. If you want to really split hairs, consider that the first fight might not have been a draw at all. It could have easily been swayed by joe "mr. firm but fair" cortez if he had actually done his job, first fight, 3rd knockdown. I.e, hitting a down fighter, at the minimum a point deduction. Cortez has been known to dq fighters for far lesser offenses. Case in point, Humberto Soto. I'll leave it at that. I doubt I'll ever take anything away from pac, but by the same token, I won't from Marquez either. I'll predict you'll be on the next Marquez post as well lol. I'll even venture to say "most" of your posting decisions are based on anything they post about Marquez Smh
